TV Host & Commentator

I have known Melanie Jones since 2009 when we worked together on the ICC Women's World Cup in Sydney, when Melanie was an integral part of our World Commentary and Hosting operation. Her skills as a communicator were as natural as any I have worked with in almost thirty years of broadcasting, so much so that Melanie has since been invited to work on some of the biggest global cricket events in the cricket calendar. She is a natural communicator on and off the camera and an absolute pleasure to work with in a team. Talented, knowledgable, skillful and a great personality put her in the top bracket!

Narrator

In November 2014 I had the pleasure of working with Mel Jones on an audio tour that my history consultancy, Way Back When, was commissioned to research, write and produce for the National Sports Museum. The tour, which is just under 18 minutes in duration, takes visitors on a journey through the Museum via the theme of Australian sporting culture. Mel was a clear and obvious choice for us when seeking an appropriate narrator as we wanted to engage an accomplished elite Australian sportsperson who understood the essence of Australian sporting culture and the centrality of sport to Australian culture and identity. But, it was also important to us that our narrator be extremely familiar with media, commentary and voice-over work. We approached Mel and were delighted when she agreed to narrate the audio tour. Working on this project with Mel was an absolute pleasure. Mel's professionalism and positive outlook made the entire production process highly enjoyable. Mel was always exceptionally well prepared for our studio sessions and as a result, recording was completed extremely efficiently. Mel\\’s narration of the audio tour was exactly what we had hoped it would be when we wrote the script - engaging, inspiring, passionate and enjoyable to listen to. I look forward to the opportunity of working with Mel in the future - and wholeheartedly, without hesitation, recommend her to you.
